Wednesday (9/23)

• Quiet Queer Read-up
  • Location: Amy's Place, 120 n First Street, Champaign
  • Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Hosted by: Amy's Place is a lesbian-owned, locally-owned queer bar in Champaign, and is currently the only LGBTQ+ bar in CU. Carnation Bookhouse is a queer-owned pop-up bookshop focused on queer joy and progressive literature.
  • Details: Hang out with Carnation Bookhouse for quiet reading night! Bring a book, have a drink, make a lit-loving friend! (Update): Sam from Carnation can't make it, but invites folks to go and read in their stead! Official Event Rescheduled to 9/30!

Thursday (9/24)

• September 24 - Thirsty Thursdays: Gay House Party
  • Location: Amy's Place, 120 n First Street, Champaign
  • Time: 9:00p - 1:00 am
  • Hosted by: Amy's Place is a lesbian-owned, locally-owned queer bar in Champaign, and is currently the only LGBTQ+ bar in CU. GayBar is a CU-based traveling queer party space. 
  • Details: This week's Thirsty Thursdays is a gay house party playing house music by DJ Emily and Mr. Beat (DJ debut). 19-20 $5 cover, 21+ free.

Friday (9/25)

• Learn the art of Paper Marbling w/ CUQTBIPOC
  • Location: The Urbana Free Library,210 W Green St, Urbana
  • Time: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
  • Hosted by: CUQTBIPOC is a supportive and community-centered space for Queer and trans Black/Indigenous/People of Color in CU to connect and share resources.
  • Details: Join the folks at CUQTBIPOC in learning the art of suinagashi, or paper marbling! Materials will be provided, and attendees will be able to take their art home with them. Free event, though please RSVP through the link here.
• Professor Diva's Heels Cabaret
  • Location: The Orpheum, 346 N Neil St, Champaign
  • Time: Doors @ 7:00 pm, Show at 7:30 pm
  • Hosted by: Professor Diva is a physicist and dancer who blends their passions to create engaging science content online and immersive in-person dance experiences.
  • Details: An immersive queer extravaganza celebrating eroticism and self-expression, featuring heels dancing, pole, stand-up, and more! Come 30 minutes before curtain for a unique pre-show experience in the gorgeous Orpheum lobby. 18+.
• GayBar Presents... Dirtiest Fantasy
  • Location: Parcadia, 302 n Broadway Ave, Urbana
  • Time: 9:30 pm - 1:00 am
  • Hosted by: GayBar is a CU-based traveling queer party space. Parcadia is an indoor magical minigolf tavern and event space.
  • Details: The official afterparty for Professor Diva's Heels Cabaret at The Orpheum in Champaign. Music by DJ Ladybug, $5 cover/free with purchase of Heels Cabaret ticket.

Saturday (9/26)

• September 26 - GayBar Presents... Stoplight Party
  • Location: Amy's Place, 120 n First Street, Champaign
  • Time: 9:00 pm - 2:00 am
  • Hosted by: Amy's Place is a lesbian-owned, locally-owned queer bar in Champaign, and is currently the only LGBTQ+ bar in CU. GayBar is a CU-based traveling queer party space. 
  • Details: Music by DJs Deezz, Saki, and Emily. Red for taken, yellow for ask, green for single and ready to mingle, and blue for DTF, come out and let people know what you're looking for <3 $5 cover, cash or Venmo, 19+

Sunday (9/27)

• Ephemera Open Mic Featuring DMB the Etymology
  • Location: Channing Murray Chapel, 1209 w Oregon Street, Urbana
  • Time: 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
  • Hosted by: Ephemera Music Collective, which is a collective of CU-based musicians dedicated to created mask-required programming and programming that centers creatives from marginalized identities. Ephemera Open Mic is a mask-required and provided open mic and showcase that highlights the work of queer, trans, and BIPOC performers.
  • Details: 90-minute open mic, then a 15 intermission with information from a local community org, and closes with a 45-minute set from a queer, trans, and/or BIPOC performer. $5 - $15 suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds. Event also features a collage table, a free clothing rack provided by FreeCU, and a queer, trans, or BIPOC vendor selling their wares.
  • September Featured Performer: DMB the Etymology from Chicago, Featured Vendors: Carnation Bookhouse and Avery Tang Designs
